The Montessori Pre-Primary environment is carefully prepared just for their needs. To aid the toddler in achieving independence.  Their space is also carefully prepared to meet the toddler's growing emotional, cognitive, and language abilities.  Lessons in the classroom include Sensorial, Practical Life, Language and Music.  As the child grows emotionally, physically and intellectually, the lessons and activities in the classroom continue to change to meet the child's growing needs.

The child has freedom to work independently, based on their own initiatives with gentle and respectful guidance from their teacher.

The Montessori environment contains specially designed, hands on materials that invite children to engage in learning activities of their own individual choice.  The areas include:

ABOUT US

At Montessori Children’s School, you will discover a warm, welcoming feeling of home. Our school environment and curriculum provide children ages 2 1/2 to 6 with a life-long love of learning. Using Dr. Montessori's methods and materials, we lovingly guide each child in developing unique abilities within a carefully planned curriculum.

Our goal is to provide the learning experiences that allow children to develop the skills to become successful learners within the classroom, and more importantly, to develop self-confidence, independence, compassion, and the sense of responsibility to become successful members of society long after their time at MCS is over.

THE MONTESSORI METHOD

According to the American Montessori Society, "Montessori education is student-led and self-paced but guided, assessed, and enriched by knowledgeable and caring teachers, the leadership of their peers, and a nurturing environment.

Within the community of a multi-age classroom—designed to create natural opportunities for independence, citizenship, and accountability—children embrace multi-sensory learning and passionate inquiry. Individual students follow their own curiosity at their own pace, taking the time they need to fully understand each concept and meet individualized learning goals.

Given the freedom and support to question, probe deeply, and make connections, Montessori students grow up to be confident, enthusiastic, and self-directed learners and citizens, accountable to both themselves and their community. They think critically, work collaboratively, and act boldly and with integrity."

TESTIMONIALS

"Since enrolling our daughter at Montessori Children’s School, we have witnessed our daughter’s self-esteem flourish as she is motivated to learn and explore at her own pace. She has developed productive and independent learning skills and has learned to work collaboratively with her classmates. The hands-on learning environment no curriculum is integral to building life and learning skills. She has learned to read and develop her math and problem solving skills at an advanced level. We believe that Montessori Children’s School and it’s staff have laid a strong foundation for her future. Highly recommend!"
