MATHMATICS

Some Mathematic topics include: number sense (recognition, quantity, sequence, and skip counting), word problems (supported by manipulative), measurement, geometry (2D and 3D shape identification), patterns (creating and identifying in an environment), graphing, and much more.

READING/WRITING

Some Reading lessons include: phonemic awareness, reading fluency, vocabulary and sentence building, high frequency words, reading comprehension, and library time.

Writing lessons include: pincer grasp activities, scribbles, lines, and shapes, moveable alphabet, story prompts, punctuation, and much more.

SCIENCE

At MCS we focus on both Life and Physical Science. Some Life Science topics include: parts of the body, the five senses, parts of plants, life cycles, living & non-living, and much more.

Some Physical Science lessons include: float and sink, hot and cold, magnetic and non-magnetic, gas, liquid, and solid,  color mixing, and much more.

GEOGRAPHY

Some Geography lessons include: land, air and water, landforms, bodies of water, the continents, animals around the world, various foods of the worlds, songs around the world, holidays, flags, and much more.

ART & MUSIC

MCS offers students many artistic and musical opportunities. Some activities include: using percussion, wind, and string instruments, listening to various genre of music each day, music creating, learning about artists and their styles, and developing one's own unique artistic style.

WORLD LANGUAGE

At MCS, students have the unique opportunity to learn a foreign languages such as Spanish, Japanese, and ASL. Some topics taught may include: greetings, introductions, months of the year, days of the week, colors, numbers, parts of the body, and songs.
